Fall Full Certification Course

OK-First is pleased to announce the Fall 2010 Full Certification Course! The course is four and a half days long and runs September 20-24. Class begins at 9:30AM on Monday the 20th and ends about 1:00PM on Friday the 24th. Completion of this course will grant you full access to the OK-First site, along with all the weather monitoring products and participant services we offer.


The Deadline for Signing Up is September 3.  After this date, we will no longer accept applications.  ALL paperwork (including the User Policy) MUST be in by September 3,
otherwise the application will not be considered for the workshop. 


If you sign up between August 30 and September 3, please go to the following address and download the PDF, fill it out, and return it either via fax (405-325-2550) or via email (okfirst@mesonet.org), otherwise you may not get your paperwork in on time to be considered:

There are a limited number of seats available, so please apply soon!


Please remember to fill in the short answer area on the form, so that we can more easily and quickly determine your eligibility for the course.  Also, we will have financial assistance for only up to 8 participants
this year, so please let us know in the form if you require financial support to attend the course.  NOTE: After we have accepted and notified the 8 who will receive assistance, there will be no more financial support.


Please do not forget to mark whether or not you will be attending the optional OK-Fire training at the end of the OK-First workshop--if there are insufficient sign-ups for the OK-Fire session, we may have to cancel it.


Notifications of acceptance, either with or without aid, will be sent out no later than Wednesday, September 8th.

OK-First Recertification Course (El Reno)

OK-First will be offering a Recertification Course on Thursday, September 30th 2010 at Canadian Valley Tech Center in El Reno. The course will begin at 9am and end at 5pm. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

After signing up, you should quickly receive notification that your application has been received...acceptances will be sent out via email no later than 1 week before the course for Full Participants, and approximately 1 week before for any assistants (assuming there is room left after the Full Participants have signed up).

To get to the Tech Center from I-40 Westbound (coming from OKC), exit Banner Road several miles after you pass the town of Yukon. Take a right (North) on Banner, then a left (West) on Highway 66 and continue until you see the Tech Center on the left.

From I-40 Eastbound (coming from Weatherford) exit Highway 81 and take a left (North) on 81 until you reach Highway 66/SE 27th St. Take a right (East) on 66 and continue several miles until you see the Tech Center on the right.

OK-First Assistant's Course (Shawnee)

OK-First will be offering a 2-day Assistant's Course on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 5th and 6th, 2010 at Gordon Cooper Tech Center in Shawnee. The course will begin at 9am and end at 5pm each day. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

After signing up, you should quickly receive notification that your application has been received...acceptances will be sent out via email no later than 1 week before the course.

To get to the Tech Center from I-40 Eastbound (coming from OKC), exit N. Harrison Ave and take a right (South) on N. Harrison until you reach E. 45th St where you will take a left (East). Take the next left on John C Bruton Dr and continue until you see the Tech Center.

From I-40 Westbound (coming from Henryetta) exit N. Harrison Ave and take a left (South) on N. Harrison until you reach E. 45th St where you will take a left (East). Take the next left on John C Bruton Dr and continue until you see the Tech Center.

OK-First Recertification Course (Stillwater)

OK-First will be offering a Recertification Course on Tuesday, October 12th 2010 at Meridian Tech Center in Stillwater. The course will begin at 9am and end at 5pm. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

After signing up, you should quickly receive notification that your application has been received...acceptances will be sent out via email no later than 1 week before the course for Full Participants, and approximately 1 week before for any assistants (assuming there is room left after the Full Participants have signed up).

To get to the Tech Center from Highway 51 approaching Stillwater from the West, take a right (South) on S Sangre Rd/N 3300 Rd and continue South until you see the Tech Center on the right.

To get to the Tech Center from Highway 51 approaching Stillwater from the East and passing through town, take a left (South) on S Sangre Rd/N 3300 Rd and continue South until you see the Tech Center on the right.

OK-First Recertification Course (Ada)

OK-First will be offering a Recertification Course on Tuesday, October 19th 2010 at Pontotoc Tech Center in Ada. The course will begin at 9am and end at 5pm. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

After signing up, you should quickly receive notification that your application has been received...acceptances will be sent out via email no later than 1 week before the course for Full Participants, and approximately 1 week before for any assistants (assuming there is room left after the Full Participants have signed up).

To get to the Tech Center from the North, take the Richardson Loop and exit Kerr Lab Rd. Once you exit, immediately take a right (West) on the road that the exit ramp merges into. This will be 33rd St/County Rd 1561 and follow it for less than a mile to your first left (South). This will be the loop that leads to the Tech Center. It will be on you left. Park in the parking area with green metal awning. The building we will be in is called "Business and Industry".

To get there from the South, take the Richardson Loop and exit Kerr Lab Rd. From the exit ramp, take a left (West) on 32nd St and then another left (South) on Kerr Lab so that you cross the highway. Once you cross over, take your first right (West) on 33rd St/County Rd 1561 and follow it for less than a mile to your first left (South). This will be the loop that leads to the Tech Center. It will be on you left. Park in the parking area with green metal awning. The building we will be in is called "Business and Industry".

OK-First will be offering a Recertification Course on Thursday, October 28th 2010 at Red River Tech Center in Duncan. The course will begin at 9am and end at 5pm. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

To get to the Tech Center from the Highway 81/Highway 7 intersection on the South side of Duncan, take Highway 7 West and it will become the Duncan Bypass. Continue a mile or until you see 27th Street. Take a right (North) on 27th and then you will take a left (West) on Bois D' Arc. Continue until you see the Tech Center on the right.

OK-First Assistant's Course (Burns Flat)

OK-First will be offering a 2-day Assistant's Course on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 2nd and 3rd, 2010 at Western Tech Center in Burns Flat. The course will begin at 9am and end at 5pm each day. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

To get to the Tech Center from Highway 44 Southbound (coming from I-40), head South until you reach Sooner St, where you will take a right (West). Continue on Sooner until you see the Tech Center on the right. 

From Highway 44 Northbound (coming from places like Cordell or Hobart), head North until you reach Sooner St, where you will take a left (West). Continue on Sooner until you see the Tech Center on the right.

OK-First Recertification Course (Tulsa)

OK-First will be offering a Recertification Course on Tuesday, November 9th, 2010 at OU-Tulsa's Schusterman Center in Tulsa. The course will begin at 9am and end at 5pm. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of class so we can begin on time.

To get to the Center: Don't follow Google directions, they are confusing. After exiting I-44 at the Yale Avenue exit, take a left onto Yale. Follow this road and take a left onto 41st Street. Visitor parking and the entrance are on the north side of Building One. E is a hallway in Building One and this room is on the 3rd floor.
