OK-FIRST participants are chosen through a competitive application process. Participants must be an employee or an appointed official of a local or state government agency involved in public safety.
OK-FIRST participants obtain certification by completing a data interpretation workshop conducted by the Oklahoma Climatological Survey. Participants must retain certification by attending recertification courses every 18 months.
