Using Vectors

A vector is a quantity having direction as well as magnitude. Vectors are interpolated, or objectively analyzed to a grid, whereas barbs represent actual data collected by station instruments.

To use vectors:

Choose Product > New > Vector...
Select a data set from the pop-up menu
Select a variable from the pop-up menu
Select the units from the pop-up menu
Click OK

Optional Settings:

Change the color of the vector by clicking the color well
Change the size of the vector using the slider
