Working with the Legend
The legend is a very versatile tool in WeatherScope. Each product in the legend is treated as a layer, so you can move products to different levels on a map or graph. Shortcuts to turn on and off archiving, animating, and tracking time are available in the legend. Quick access to the Date dialog is just a double-click away.
To move a product up one layer:
- Click a product in the legend and choose one of the following:
- Choose Product > Move Forward
- Click and drag the product up with the mouse
To move a product down one layer:
- Click a product in the legend and choose one of the following:
- Choose Product > Move Backward
- Click and drag the product down with the mouse
To move a product to the front of the map or graph:
- Select a product in the legend and choose one of the following:
- Choose Product > Move to Front
- Click and drag the product to the top of the legend (right below the icons) with the mouse
To move a product to the back of the map or graph:
- Select a product in the legend and choose one of the following:
- Choose Product > Move to Back
- Click and drag the product to the bottom of the legend with the mouse
To hide the legend on a map:
- Choose Map > Hide Legend
To show the legend on a map:
- Choose Map > Show Legend
To hide the legend on a graph:
- Choose Graph > Hide Legend
To show the legend on a graph:
- Choose Graph > Show Legend
To hide a product on a map or graph, select a product in the legend and choose one of the following:
- Choose Product > Hide
- Right-click with the mouse on the selected product, then choose "Hide" from the menu
To show a product on a map or graph, select a product in the legend and choose one of the following:
- Choose Product > Show
- Right-click with the mouse on the selected product, then choose "Show" from the menu
To select multiple products in the legend:
- Press and hold down the Control key and click each product with the mouse
To delete a product in the legend, select a product and choose one of the following:
- Press the delete (or backspace) key
- Choose Edit > Clear
To change the date from the legend:
- Double-click on the date at the top of the legend
- Choose a new value for the month, day, year, hour, or minute in the dialog box
To turn on and off data archival from the legend:
- Click once on the folder icon below the date. If the folder is highlighted, data is archiving; if the folder is dimmed, data is not archiving
To turn on and off animation from the legend:
- Click once on the loop icon below the date. If the icon is highlighted, animation is ready; if the icon is dimmed, animation is not ready
Note: Choose Show Animator to reveal animation controls, or use the options in the Map Menu
To turn on and off Track Real Time from the legend:
- Click once on the clock icon below the date. If the clock is highlighted, real time is tracked; if the icon is dimmed, real time is not tracked
