Question 3. What happens to the reflectivity feature between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.? What else happens in the radar data between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.?

Answer.  There are two different modes that the radar can be in for base reflectivity: Clear Air and Precip. Clear Air mode picks up lower reflectivity values better while Precip mode give a better picture of storm structure. The dryline does not disappear, but the mode of the radar changes and cannot detect as well as before the switch.
