Question 8.  Notice the reflectivity values of the storm mentioned in question 7 while the storm is in Pontotoc County. What do you think might be seen on the ground at this time?
 


 
Answer. Hail is commonly associated with reflectivity values above 57 dBZ. With reflectivity values above 65 dbZ the Pontotoc county storm likely produced very large hail. In addition, a spike of weak reflectivity extended radially outward from the storm (the radial is indicated by the dashed yellow line). This 3-body hail spike is always associated with large hail.
