Question 3. Look at the Mesonet data plots (solar radiation, dew point, temperature, and winds) at
4:00 p.m. What is occuring between Ardmore and Chickasha?
|
Answer. The surface winds between Ardmore and Chickasha shifted from southerly to southeasterly. This wind shift tapped into an abundant supply of surface moisture (dew points above 68°F). Accordingly, the dew point and the cloud cover increased between Ardmore and Chickasha. Because of the increased cloud cover, surface heating did not occur as quickly, so temperatures were cooler. |
