Question 7. Are there structures or behavior of storms which could be significant?

Answer. Flooding is frequently caused by slow moving storms or storms that repeatedly pass over the same area. Slow moving storms that produce heavy rain can cause flooding by precipitating over the same area for extended periods of time. A line of storms that pass over the same area, or train, may also cause flooding. Storms training over an area could cause very large rainfall amounts and flooding could be a problem. From the sounding, discussions, and rainfall in previous days, northeastern Oklahoma looks to prime for a flooding event.
