Question 6. What pattern in the Base Velocity scan at 6:28 p.m. is correlated with the feature seen in question 4?

Answer. The Base Velocity scan indicates a mesocyclone located in the same area as the hook echo/BWER in the Base Reflectivity scans. Strong shear in the Base Velocity scan (84 kts) is a good indication of strong rotation in a thunderstorm.
