Question 12. Why are the BI and SC values from the afternoon runs higher than the values from the
morning and overnight runs? Would you expect this on an uneventful day like the 19th?
|
Answer. The BI and SC values are higher during the day because the temperature is higher, the relative humidity is lower and the wind speeds are greater. At night, the temperature drops, the relative humidity is higher and the winds weaken which inhibit fires. This is a normal diurnal cycle that happens every day. |
