Saving Maps and Graphs
The changes you make to a map or graph exist only in your computer's temporary memory until you save the map or graph on your computer's hard disk. It's a good idea to save your work frequently.
To save a map or graph for the first time:
- Choose File > Save As
- Type a name for the map or graph
- Choose a format for the map or graph (Weatherscript is the default; see below for more information)
- Select a location to save the map or graph
- Click Save
To save an existing map or graph with a new file name:
- Choose File > Save As
- Type a new name for the map or graph
- Choose a Format for the map or graph (Weatherscript is the default; see below for more information)
- Select a location to save the map or graph
- Click Save
The default file type for maps and graphs is Weatherscript. You have the option to save maps and graphs as several different file types.
To save a map or graph as a different file type:
- Choose File > Save As
- Choose the Format drop-down menu and select your desired file type
Note: The file type used by WeatherScope is called WeatherScript (denoted by the ".wxscript" extension). WeatherScirpt files can be animated, have zoom levels changed, have products added or deleted, or the properties of any product modified. If you save a map or graph in another format, you will not be able to reopen it in WeatherScope.
